I have become so caught up with facebook I forgot to blog… We have many sweet things in for spring…new Tom’s shoes, beautiful colors from Love Quotes,Kerry Cassill, Cake Couture, Lucky Uschi back from India. Our Ojai Malas  ! I am so grateful to Erin Zammett Ruddy of Glamour.com to include me in her blog on health and cancer…I hope my story helps others live their dream, like I am here in Ojai. It has been pretty difficult for all of us in retail these days and when I lose hope, the divine steps in to guide the way. I met two amazing women visiting Ojai this weekend,(Jacqueline and Candice) who hung out in my store and gave me inspiration when I most needed it. I had not checked my e-mail so at the time did not know I had been included in the article. The whole weekend rocked and for me it is not so much measured in sales( although I need that to happen) but I guess a validation for the clothes I pick to be loved. Bv2 is an expression of my creativity. I love the store, yoga and Ojai. Nature is completely breathtaking here, an expression of God’s love and am so blessed to be present for it. I finished the weekend off teaching my meditation class. We practiced at Lulu Bandha’s together starting with beautiful melodies and asana…followed by pranayama and explored getting comfortable physically to sit. I have been focused on backbending in class as I find it helps to open the heart  and the sensation of expansiveness. I also love the modifed side plank Kira has been doing and so we did that. We ended with reflection on gratitude. This weekend was complete flow for me. I need to remember that when faced with adversity.  Om Shanti Cath

This is a label I am comfortable applying to myself and  my style. I cannot remember which fashion drag  I first read this term  in but I recall feeling that is it, that is about me! ( am a Leo so an important distinction)I would be remiss if I at this point did not pay homage to the queen of boho chic and that would be Betsey Johnson. It was in the 90′s and Betsey was cutting, hand dying and broom sticking everything at her showroom. I know because I was lucky enough to be catching  some of the magic bubbles that she spread around. She wore groovy little shrunken messed up tees with everything and really was so rock-star! And we had alot of rock-stars around back then. Most thought she was way eccentric and she is!! Beautifully herself always dancing to her own tune. We were all excited and loved following her lead. I remember  one of those little messed up numbers it was a short  short and shrunken over-dye placket tee with little silver metal buttons so groovy and it ended up on Kate Moss on the cover of Cosmo.  Kate was an even bigger Supermodel back then because it was all so fresh.The freedom to wear wrinkled cut clothes with threads hanging sort of anti fashion  is so liberating and and although this style has been morphing from the sixties hippie culture taking on many incarnations(History lesson-Mark Jacobs…  grunge, Anna Sui ..surfchic) it has never really gone out of style ,although sometimes the mags say it has. But not for me because true fashion is mixing up your favorite things, being true to a style that is comfy for YOU. I dress very much the way I did in the seventies. I love clothes with memories. I love color. I love jewelry and Mala’s from India. I love a fresh new tee and yoga pant that can go day into night. I am mucho grateful to be living in a time that I feel complete freedom to explore my creativity thru fashion and my individuality that does not subscribe to what is in, what is in is what I love and I thank Betsy for helping to define my independence in those early years when I worked with her. Kira’s morning yoga classes …how blessed to include this in  my morning self study/ svadhyaya. Thank God literally for yoga.

And more…Love Quotes lineney cotton scarves perfect accessory offered in great colors, wonderful for savasana and outfitting. Lena Wald peace sign great  layering piece or by itself good too. Simple Clu and LNA tees. The combo I loved wearing this week was Divinewear dark chocolate brown go natural pant with apple LNA scoop/cap sleeve tee and Dear cashmere button down long cardy, my carnelian Ojai Mala necklace and Stormie wrap bracelet in green stacked with green turq cuff from Old Stud…. and my mocha Love Quotes scarf …sounds like alot but it really worked for me! Check the web on these …. we try to update photos a couple of times a month and are always receiving beautiful new additions to our offerings.

Love our rain we need it .Going to the movies with my daughter and friends is joyous and it reminds me of a comforting east coast memory.

Reading daily :Meditations from the Mat by Rolf  Gates and Katrina Kenison, Patanjali’s Yoga Sutras(like Swami Satchidananda translation)  and  recently finished Untethered Soul by Michael Singer… all offered at BV2 all providing insights I am ready to see.
